For as long as she could remember, the Garlean Empire was a looming presence in her life. Her tribe, like the few others in Gyr Abania, learned to avoid the Imperials by navigating the land using its naturally provided shortcuts and foliage. Unfortunately, some of V'ruti's tribemates weren't lucky enough to avoid being captured or executed.With the Empire increasing their military presence due to an oncoming war with the Eorzean Alliance, V'ruti knew it was only a matter of time before she would share the same fate as her dead tribemates. So, she developed a plan for her and her brother, V'ish, to abandon their tribe and head somewhere that was safer than their homeland.The siblings eventually came across the city-state known as Ul'dah. They were enamored by the city-state's diverse population and its customs. Although, a new set of challenges faced them here: assimilating into an unfamiliar culture amongst traders, nobles, and criminals.
